Aplana Software kept growing in 2008

Turnover of Aplana in 2008 reached 14 million dollars, that is 12 per cent more than in 2007 (12,5 million dollars). The main business lines of the company in 2008 were custom software development, software product development, testing of information systems, distribution of IBM Rational and implementation of EDMS BOSS-Referent.

Aplana strengthened its positions in the field of custom software development for Russian companies. Thus in the past year it realized a number of large projects for Mobile TeleSystems, AFK Systema, Absolute Bank, TNK-BP, Bank of Russia, Sberbank, and IFD Capital.

In 2007 Aplana became the first company in Russia and CIS which received the status of JBoss Certified Solution Partner, having started development of services on the basis of the software with the open code - JBoss Enterprise Middleware and Red Hat Enterprise Linux. In 2008 the company has deepened its competence in this field, having realized a number of projects on development of portal and integration solutions with use of its own solutions, developed on the basis of Jboss.

In the western market Aplana considerably enhanced its partnership relationships in the sphere of R&D services  with such technological companies, such as GRT, MTech and ITIS holdings. During the past year Aplana participated in development of unique, in functionality and state-of-art design, decisions. Special attention should be given to, first, social portal TabUP; secondly, the applications for a control system of service of hotels HotSOS (Hotel Service Order System) and, thirdly, Traffic Services - the applications enhancing the usage of static traffic information within the road network of Great Britain  

In 2008 Aplana Software won the prestigious Microsoft ‘Smart Client Development Partner of the Year’ award for development of an online e-shop for digital music. This is the third Microsoft award received by Aplana, having previously won two similar awards in 2004.

The strategic business directions in 2009 will be outsourcing of development, support and testing of software systems for Russian and foreign companies, implementation of EDMS BOSS-Referent and ERP on the basis of Microsoft technologies. Besides Aplana will focus on consulting services in creation of Software Lifecircle Management Support Systems on the basis of IBM Rational, IBM Telelogic and HP products.
