Aplana reaches the finals of Microsoft’s 2009 Program Awards

Web-portal MUZ.RU (www.muz.ru), is an e-shop and Web-broadcasting system built using Microsoft Commerce Server and Silverlight technologies. The users can download paid-for digital content or subscribe for unlimited access. Besides an opportunity to purchase legal audio content, the users of MUZ.RU have access to features, developed with Microsoft DRM technology, allowing access to phonograms and 30-seconds fragments of tracks in Web-broadcasting mode before buying.

Traffic Services for ITIS, the UK’sleading provider of real-time road traffic information, is a unique set of services which can be used in any third-party applications or just for visual representation of traffic information on a map. These services are truly unique, because they provide traffic information on various roadways at different times of the day and days of the week. The main advantages of these services are that they are online, so the user can access the relevant information immediately. This solution was developed with proactive use of Microsoft technologies: Microsoft Visual Studio Team System 2008 Development Edition, & Microsoft SQL Server 2008. The service-oriented architecture (SOA) was used, and the set of Web-services based on WCF is at the heart of the system.

This is the third year that Aplana Software has become a finalist in Microsoft’s Partner Program Awards:

• in 2004, ‘Winning Customers Award’ and ‘Customer Experience Award’ were received for reengineering of HotSOS, Hotel Service Order Optimization System, which now is implemented in thousands of hotels in 34 countries all over the world by MTech Co;
• in 2008 ‘Smart Client Development Partner of the Year’ was received for development of an online e-shop for digital music built in Windows Media Player 11;
• in 2009 Aplana becomes a finalist in two nominations at once - ‘Web Development Partner of the Year’ and ‘Software-plus-Services Development Partner of the Year’.
