Re-engineering, development and testing Relavis CRM solutions.Leveraging outsourced software development to reduce time-to-market of new Relavis CRM solutions and to enhance Relavis’ sales and marketing effectiveness internationally.
Early in 2000 Relavis faced the task of porting of one of its solutions from Lotus/Domino to IBM WebSphere platform. Relavis had made a decision to reduce costs and time required to fulfill that project by utilizing Russian software resources, and after meeting with IBM’s major Russian partners selected IT Company’s Software Development Center (since December 2001 known as Aplana Software) to do the work. Solution After successful completion of the first phase –functional description of product functionality using visual modeling language (UML) – the next step was creation of a new version of Relavis’ eBusinessStreams on Websphere platform. This work was done by the team from 25 to 41 Aplana specialists working simultaneously. Aplana’s work included both software engineering and project management. Relavis specialists were responsible for the architecture, specifications and final quality acceptance. Results The results of this joint work can best be shown by the opinion of an independent expert, the Gartner Group, which stated that Relavis eBusiness Streams completely meets all major requirements for a CRM solution: open architecture, quick implementation and fast return on investment. As core developer of the new Relavis solution, Aplana Software was well prepared to present it on the Russian market not just as another russified version of a Western product, but as a product with full consideration for standard Russian business practices. Thus technical cooperation was extended later on into business area: Aplana Software was granted the status of Relavis Strategic Partner and was involved in sales and marketing of Relavis CRM solutions in Russia and the CIS. “From the very beginning of our working together we found Aplana Software to be a reliable and highly professional development partner for our CRM solutions.
