Aplana Software have developed the Touch Activated Control Terminal, a Web-application intended for work of the service staff through special terminals installed in the premises of hotel employees, and also through mobile devices.

Since March, 2003 Aplana Software has been a partner of Management Technologies in a Hot SOS (the Control system of Service) system engineering. The given system is a simple and convenient in use mean of service divisions activity automation (chambermaid service, engineering service) which allows intellectual fixing and processing of incoming requests.

The system is working with three basic categories of requests:

  • Single requests for service, for example, replacement of a bulb.
  • Requests connected with settlement of visitors, for example, automatic generation of requests for service in connection with arrival or reaccommodation of visitors; thus integration with a management system of accommodation (PMS) allows to consider client’s individual preferences (for example, an operating mode of the conditioner, etc.).
  • Procedural maintenance, for example, of lifts, escalators, etc.; meanwhile, the system supports the adjusted schedule and the automatic mechanism of notices.
  • More than 200 hotels of Interstate Hotels &Resort network, together with Hilton, Renaissance, Marriott and other known brands have become the largest users of the product.

With the purpose of development and optimization of system the leadership of the Management Technologies has made a decision to develop the Web-application to the system Hot SOS.

Solution

As a result of cooperation, the experts of Aplana Softwarehave developed the Touch Activated Control Terminal, a Web-application intended for work of the service staff through special terminals installed in the premises of hotel employees, and also through mobile devices.

Touch Activated Control Terminal system is designed for the attendants who has small operational experience with computers and a low level of computer literacy. When designing the application the primary attention has been given to development of evident and clear graphic images. Owing to the convenient interface, the hotel employees, having entered their personal password on the terminal, can easily create and look through requests of necessary service and operatively react to them.

The Web-application is developed using ASP.NET 2.0 technology with use of AJAX and Web Services for asynchronous interaction with a server.

Microsoft technologies on the basis of which the given application was created, allow to use new solutions avoiding refusal from the old ones; and to easily expand the system.
